› Burial Assessment Survey :
SIMEC is proposing innovative answers in BAS operation for what determination of cable / pipe route and inspection are concerned.
The objective of the Burial Assessment Survey is to assess a cable route which has been electronically surveyed and to determine its suitability for the cable laying and burial.
The BAS provides all necessary information to determine :
The target cover depth achievable by the selected burial equipment
The appropriate cable protection method such as :
plough, trencher, jetter, mettal shell, Uraduc
The appropriate cable specification according to protection feasibility.

SIMEC is able to propose two methods of investigation :
The FT1 BAS grapnel able to assess up to 120 cm burial with recording of :
Share penetration
Towing force
Pitch and Roll
Water depth
Real time positioning using DGPS and USBL Acoustic Positioning.
This method is suitable for short or long distance survey.

The BAS package with CPT Tool able to assess up to 110 cm burial. This package is designed to be installed on tracked vehicle such Castor trenchers.
Such method allows very accurate seabed investigations such as :
Cone Penetration Test with data processing and analysis
Seabed bearing capabilities
Slopes characteristics
Video/Sonar inspection
Trenching tests.
